Helston comes alive on Friday, 8 May 2026 for its world-famous Flora Day, a vibrant celebration of spring, community, and centuries-old tradition. From the early morning beat of the big bass drum, dancers wind through the flower-decorated streets, led by the lively Helston Town Band. The day features four main dances - the Early Morning Dance, the Children’s Dance, the Midday Furry Dance, and the Evening Dance - each filled with colour, music, and joyful movement. 

A highlight is the Hal an Tow pageant, where local folklore and mythical figures like St George and St Michael are brought to life in a lively street performance. Throughout the day, the town is adorned with flowers and greenery, with bustling stalls, fairs, and a palpable sense of community spirit, making Flora Day a true Cornish treasure and a perfect way to welcome the warmth and renewal of spring.

St Ives Food and Drink Festival makes its much-anticipated return in 2026, uniting food lovers, talented local producers and leading chefs for a truly memorable culinary celebration.

Set against the breathtaking coastline of St Ives, the festival delivers a weekend of outstanding Cornish flavours, live cooking demonstrations and tempting tastings. This summer, Cornwall’s golden sands at Perranporth Beach will once again play host to Tunes in the Dunes 2026, a three‑day live music festival from 5 – 7 June 2026 that blends sun, sea and sensational music into one unforgettable weekend. 

Set right on the beach with the Atlantic rolling in the background, the festival brings an eclectic mix of national and international artists to a unique seaside stage, with headline acts like Basement Jaxx, The Wombats and Ministry of Sound Classical already confirmed alongside a vibrant supporting lineup spanning indie, rock, dance, funk and more.

The Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival is a one-of-a-kind celebration of Cornwall and the South West’s rich maritime heritage.

Returning from 12-14 June 2026, the festival fills Falmouth with rousing performances across multiple venues and large waterfront stages. Expect lively parades, open-air singalongs and plenty of chances to join in, alongside engaging workshops and talks exploring the history and enduring legacy of sea shanties and seafaring traditions.
